Machiavelli Rules
Machiavelli is a strategic variant of Scala 40 (Italian Rummy) where, in addition to
laying down your own combinations, you can manipulate the combinations already on the
table. This makes it one of the most stimulating and tactical card games.
Differences from Scala 40
- Combinations already on the table can be split, recombined, and modified.
- In runs, after the King you can continue with Ace, 2, 3 (e.g. 10, J, Q, K, A, 2, 3).
- If during your turn you add at least one card to the table combinations, you don't have to draw.
- If you can't play any card, you automatically draw from the deck.
Objective
As in Scala 40, the goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. The difference is that you have
much more freedom to manipulate the table to your advantage.
How to play "Machiavelli Luciano"
- Form combinations: click on the cards (which MUST BE IN THE CORRECT ORDER), then
click in the area above the player to lay them down.
- Add to a set: drag the card to the desired position.
- Split a set: click (right or left button) on a card in a table combination to
split it at that point (the selected card will remain in the right part of the combination,
unless it is the first card or a card in a four-of-a-kind, in which case it will be
isolated).
- Move cards: after splitting a set, you can add, move and recombine cards
freely.
- End turn: click on the free area of your field or on the deck. If during your
turn you have added at least one card or combination to the field, the game will pass to the
next opponent without drawing; otherwise, a card will be automatically drawn.
